Dr. Aaron Poynton
President — USA
Dr. Aaron Poynton is an international businessman, entrepreneur, and global strategist with experience in more than 50 countries. His career spans senior commercial leadership within Fortune 500 and FTSE 100 companies, the development of new ventures, and strategic partnerships across international markets.
He chaired the United Nations 80th Anniversary Gala, co-hosted by CNN and held at the French Embassy in Washington, D.C. A Fulbright Specialist, he is also a former board member of the United Nations Association of the National Capital Area (UNA-NCA), where he served two terms.
His work today includes leadership in advanced technology and artificial intelligence, bringing emerging capabilities to market and convening senior business and policy leaders around their global impact. He brings this perspective to the council’s mission of strengthening trade, investment, and relationships between Africa and the United States.
A former U.S. Army officer and author, Dr. Poynton holds a doctorate in public administration, an MBA from Duke University, and graduate degrees from the London School of Economics and George Washington University. He also completed Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program.

Patrice Majondo-Mwamba
President — Africa
Patrice Majondo-Mwamba is a Congolese-born businessman, international advisor, and former NFL player. As the council’s President — Africa, he connects global entrepreneurs and investors with African opportunities and brings regional relationships to cross-border collaboration.
A Texas Tech alumnus, Patrice is the founder of Our Congo Our Pride and co-founder of the Women United Foundation. His public work has focused on youth opportunity, diaspora engagement, infrastructure, and transparent governance in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Current presidential candidate: Patrice announced his candidacy for the Democratic Republic of Congo’s 2028 presidential election on June 17, 2026, following his earlier candidacy in 2023.
